A vibrant village shop at the heart of our community
Run as a Community Benefit Society, our shop is owned by over 600 community shareholders and run by our Shop Managers, Nadine and Lynne and a dedicated group of volunteers.
We stock a wide range of products and also provide some essential services. So, whether you’re a local or just passing through, visit us today!

We can prepare orders for collection, just phone or email us your order by 2pm the day before. For anything not in stock, we can order it specially for you and advise on when it will be available (usually within a day or so).

OUR COMMUNITY
Village People
EDEN
I live in Lazonby, but come to school in Kirkoswald. I am always hungry when I finish school, so we go to the shop for a snack to keep me going until teatime.
JOHN
I have been walking down the hill from home to the shop every morning for over 20 years since I retired, to collect my newspaper. I don’t know what I would do if the shop wasn’t there.
PAT
I have been a volunteer since 2010. The shop is a great place for people who might otherwise be socially isolated to meet and catch up.
PHIL THE POSTIE
After a hard morning delivering post to Kirkoswald, it’s great to pop in and get some lunch: a sandwich, a drink and a snack.
BEN AND NICOLA
We pop into the shop to top up on essentials when we are driving about to check on our stock.
SYLVIA AND JASPER
I enjoy riding around the parish and I like to see people coming and going to the shop. It keeps the village alive.
